Annual Convening 2013
Friday, August 16, 2013 at 1:00 pm – Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 5:00 pm
The Florida Rights Restoration Coalition (“FRRC”), in partnership with Florida New Majority (FNM) and PICO Florida, and the ACLU of Florida presents the 2013 Annual Convening. We will advocate for the restoration of voting rights for people with past felony convictions (Returning Citizens), and will address the recent legislative changes concerning voting practices and voter registration in Florida.
This convening is designed to:
- Hear from key state officials and organizations (to be confirmed) about the current clemency policies, voting rights issues and their impact on Florida’s political and social landscape, as well as the national and international perspectives on these issues.
- Develop the road map to clemency reform for 2014 and beyond
- Form alliances/cooperation between statewide and national organizations that advocate for voting reform.
- Develop strategies for outreach, education, and voter registration for people with newly restored voting rights
Registration is $50. Register here.
